Dining Experiences at Thackray House
Dining at Thackray House is a relaxed yet refined experience, guided by the seasons and inspired by the finest local Scottish produce. From the welcoming comfort of the Lounge Menu, where classic favourites are served throughout the day, to the timeless ritual of Afternoon Tea, each setting within the house lounge areas offers its own distinctive character and charm.
Dinner is served in the Strawberry Fields Bistro, where freshly grown produce from our very own walled garden brings each dish to life, celebrating the best of the season with simple, elegant flavours.
Lounge & Bar
The Lounge at Thackray House offers relaxed dining in the heart of the main house, serving a thoughtfully curated menu of classic dishes made with seasonal ingredients. Perfect for a leisurely lunch or informal afternoon snack the Lounge is complemented by our cosy bar, home to a collection of over 40 whiskies from across Scotland, alongside local craft ales—ideal for unwinding at any time of day.

Afternoon Tea
For generations Thackray House has been renowned for its afternoon tea. Our Drawing Room and Library are perfect for a long afternoon spent relaxing and enjoying the company of friends over a feast of cakes, sandwiches and fine teas.

Strawberry Fields Bistro
Strawberry Fields Bistro provides a relaxing atmosphere and is very popular both with house guests and visitors. Offering the best of Scottish food simply cooked in a garden setting.
Our Bistro is open daily from 5pm.
