Christmas at Thackray House
Celebrate Christmas in true Scottish style at Thackray House in Callander, where our carefully curated three-day festive retreat blends warmth, indulgence, and seasonal charm. Set in the heart of the picturesque town of Callander, the gateway to the Trossachs, our welcoming house provides a cosy and characterful base surrounded by wintery woodland walks, riverside views, and the scenic beauty of the Trossachs.
Arrive on Christmas Eve and settle in beside the roaring fire in our comfortable lounge, where a delightful Cream Tea awaits. As evening approaches, join fellow guests for a festive Prosecco reception, followed by a candlelit three-course dinner, lovingly prepared by our talented chefs. For those attending midnight mass locally, a warm welcome back awaits with mulled wine and mince pies, rounding off the evening in true Christmas spirit.
On Christmas morning, wake to find a Christmas stocking waiting outside your door before enjoying a relaxed breakfast. From 12:30pm, our celebratory Christmas Lunch will be served at your reserved time, beginning with a Champagne reception. The afternoon is yours to enjoy at leisure – exchange gifts, play games, or simply unwind by the fire. Walking maps will be available for guests who wish to explore the charming surroundings of Callander and the nearby countryside. Later in the evening, a relaxed cold buffet supper will be served, ideal for those with room for a little extra festive indulgence.
Following a leisurely brunch on Boxing Day, take time to explore the house and local area, perhaps strolling along the River Teith or venturing into the nearby woodland trails. In the afternoon, join us for Afternoon Tea in the lounge from 2:30pm, a perfect way to warm up and relax. As evening falls, gather once more for a Prosecco reception before enjoying a sumptuous three-course dinner in our dining room, bringing your festive retreat to a memorable close.
On departure day, savour one final full Scottish breakfast before bidding farewell to Thackray House, taking with you fond memories of a warm, relaxed, and truly special Christmas in Callander.
Christmas 3-night Package from £1900 per room
Terms & Conditions: To secure a room at Thackray House we ask for a 50% non-refundable deposit upon reservation with the final 50% non-refundable payment made by 31st October 2026. Please note that our cancellation policy is 60 days prior to arrival, should you wish to amend or cancel your reservation prior this time, you will forfeit the deposit made up to this point. Reservations cancelled within 60 days of arrival are liable to be charged the full cost of the stay. It is advisable that you cover yourself with travel indemnity.
Hogmanay at Thackray House
Ring in the New Year with a spectacular Hogmanay retreat at Thackray House in Callander, where we’ve created a luxurious three-day celebration blending relaxation, lively festivities, and warm Scottish hospitality. Set in the heart of the charming town of Callander, the gateway to the Trossachs, Thackray House offers a welcoming and characterful setting surrounded by woodland scenery, riverside walks, and the winter beauty of the National Park.
Arrive on the 30th and unwind with a traditional Cream Tea served in our comfortable lounge beside a roaring fire. As evening falls, join fellow guests for a Prosecco reception, followed by a candlelit three-course dinner, the perfect way to ease into your Hogmanay celebrations.
Begin the final day of the year with a leisurely breakfast before enjoying the morning at your own pace. A light lunch will be served in the afternoon as anticipation builds for the evening ahead. The celebrations begin with a Champagne reception, followed by our glamorous Black-Tie New Year Gala Dinner. After dinner, dance the night away with music and festivities, the perfect way to welcome in 2027.
On New Year’s Day, enjoy a relaxed brunch before spending the day as you please. Take a gentle stroll along the River Teith, explore nearby woodland trails, or simply relax by the fire and reflect on the year ahead. From 2:30pm, indulge in Afternoon Tea in the lounge, followed by a sumptuous three-course dinner served in our dining room from 6:30pm, rounding off your celebrations in comfort and style.
